    Default Keeping first toads!

Nothing to special, just two American toads. Right now they are in a very basic set up, but I'm planning a nice viv

Also, I was intending on keeping them on eco earth, but I was wondering, would aspen shavings be okay? I have a corn snake and have some extra laying around. Just wondering since it would be an easy solution to build up a viv, but I want to make sure that aspen would be okay. I still might go with eco earth, though, because of mold reasons.

Aspen would be an impaction risk, eco earth is your best bet. Great pets to own though. Mine has one of the best feeding responses of any of my animals. Attacks tongs and picked up on bowl feeding very quickly as well.

Good to hear! My little FBTs have the best feeding response next to some of my arachnids, but I think when these two "warm up" to me they may enter the competition.
So far I have found they are very easy to keep!
