Hey guys.
I recently recieved 6 young Duttaphrynus melanostictus (NOT from Germany LOL) and I noticed something funny on one of the little guys.
Now I found another thread somewhere here, that brings on a similar case and mentions this is probably scar tissue, so I wanna check with you.
Does this look like a fungal situation or scar tissue?
I got the guys from a HUGE botanical institution here in DK, where they roam free inside the big green houses. I only saw one other little guy in there with this patch, whom I let go, but first discovered this little guys patch here, when I got home.
Other than that they look extremely healthy, robust and energetic!
Hi Victor! My recommendation would be to measure the discolored area (you already have pics) and ensure it does not change over the next few days. Also, if it's feasible would quarantine that one away from the others.
Is there a place where you can send tissue samples for pathological analysis? We have them here in USA; but with distance that might not be useful to you. Good luck, love those toads !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Allright. Thanks He is quaranteened and I will keep an eye on him.
Of course I couldn't find the thread here where someone posted a pic of his Green Treefrog, who has similar patches (although his patches had also become swollen), but I found a thread here that states it's most likely scar tissue: Field Herp Forum • View topic - Fungus on toad in DE
He has the exact same spot. So fingers crossed and all - will keep an eye on him
Any updates Victor ?

Yeah he/she's doing great Thanks for the interest! Seems like it's just scar tissue. The size or type of the patch hasn't changed at all, he's gained wheight and takes food readily. So how he's living along with two of the other guys, whom I'll introduce in a post soon
But here's a few new pics:
So far "he's" named Tiny tim. I'm hoping he's male, so postulating a little with the name, hehe
Adorable! I'm glad he's doing well

Hey guys.
Felt like a just-for-fun update, before I head off to work
TinyTim is still doing great and growing well, with the rest of the guys. I've now cared for him for ca. 4 months and here's some pics of him from today:
Because he was such a darkred colour today, I accidentally caught Meru by mistake (who's normally very dark red in teint). You just godda love that expression LOL
Tiny Tim is an very handsome toad; congrats !
