Hi guys, talk about bad luck with my Green Trees lately, from a respiratory infection, bacterial infection, fungal infection and now this?! My poor girl has rubbed her nose off on the top of a transport tank trying to get out... Can anyone reccomend anything I can put on this open wound without her breathing it in? It's just continually weeping and looks so so so sore.
Hi,
I'm so sorry
Ouch ! This poor little guy needs a topical and systemic antibiotic and a sterilized ( safe) QT tank.
Since it is near his eyes one must be very careful when choosing a topical medication. He needs an appt with a herp vet.
The inside of any container needs to be carefully inspected. This is especially true re plastic critter keepers as there are lots of sharp edges around the air holes in the lid. For a frog to rub itself long enough to cause this kind of injury is the result of it being in a situation that is causing tremendous stress.
Continued stress can cause a downward spiral.......... stress> lowered immunity > infections
The QT tank should have three sides covered and placed in a very quiet area. He will feel safer and be able to heal nicely.
There, you will be able to monitor his food intake and keep thinks nice and clean.

Our tree frogs are very needy !
When we have repetitive issues with our tree frogs we need to get back to basics.
We need to re-evaluate our proper husbandry efforts.
