Some led corn lights that were supposed to be the right spectrum. They looked off to me from the beginning, I shouldn't have stuck with them! Nothing seemed to be an issue, but while I was on vacation for a week, all the plants suffered. The new light, recommended by Bill (I listened this time ) should be here in a few days.

Which light did Bill happen to recommend? (lemme guess, one from aquatraders )

Oh and Bill, if you see this, your Tardis tank inspired me to watch my first episode of Doctor Who today. It seems like a pretty good show, so your tank certainly did its job lol.

The Beamswork actually seemed pretty nifty, but I'm not sure how you clip on the small ones.

I bought the 24" and am excited to get it on there. Jarteta, I have a smaller clip on led and I ended up laying it on the cover because it didn't fit anywhere to clip. The smaller led wasn't near big enough for either of my tanks. I may use it on a desk terrarium with an open top mini tank that doesn't have a lip.

So far most of my moss is dead, purple passion is dead, creeping Jenny, rabbit foot fern, bacopa, and English ivy in need of icu. Going to try to revive the moss also. Some stuff is still thriving. All the dracaenas, most ferns, pothos, and peace lily are great yet.

Joshs Frogs, lots in stock. I think I'm going to try to mount it with some lfs on the vine. The white rabbits foot is awesome, but I really wanted the black in the first place. Everyone was sold out of it then though. I figured the moss would come back with tlc, even if it's slow. I am going to look for another cheap orchid tomorrow because they love the one I already have. Fortuna still mostly sleeps on the glass, I thought she would find plants in the new viv to chill on. Tarrazu slept on leaves in the hospital tank and Fortuna on the glass, same thing in the new tank. They use the vine in the middle to hunt from, it's pretty cool. They both sit on it and dive into the food bowls.

Awesome! Yeah we have one that sleeps on the glass every night. occasionally another one will join him/her up there, but mostly it is the same one.

I always had bad luck with plants from Josh. They always seem to be doing good then they suddenly die so I have stayed away from the plants there. Though it was during winter time so it may have been the cold weather, but nearly $100 on dead plants has me shopping elsewhere for now. I do love them as a company and use a lot of their other products.

Gotta be creative there. Those little LEDs are made for rimless aquariums (think ADA), they have been the latest fad in planted tanks for a few years.

Plants are growing well (except that moss that died! Has some new green growth again but going sloooow)

I love this plant, I think my new favorite, growing quickly since I got it from Bill! Such pretty patterns on it.

My phone could never do that LOL. I have the Canon Powershot SX510 HS. Not a very big or expensive camera, but I get a lot of decent pics out of it. Eventually, I'll get a DSLR with some good lenses.

Any tips on the streptocarpella? It died within a week in my grey tree frog viv, and is barely hanging on in the red eye viv. In my defense, it was pretty sad looking already when I got it. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to revive it at all. You can see it all the way in the back of the first pic.

Not sure Amy, but to me (and I am not plant expert) the wilting leaves coupled with the free stem tells me that one of 2 things could be causing it. Either to much water on the leaves or the light is to bright.

Try not misting it directly but once a day or once every other day and see if that helps it improve? Again I am no plant expert. Just a rookie plant guy guess.

I thought that it might be a result of water standing on the leaves, but I've been very careful not to mist it. Not to mention, it completely died very quickly in my grey tree frog viv, where it is a bit drier. It is in one of the shadier parts of the viv, maybe it needs more light? I've had it for about a month now, and it was pretty leggy and unhealthy looking when I got it. I just cant get it to be happy. Maybe I'll plant it in a separate area out of the viv environment completely and see what happens. I remember my grandma growing these very well as a houseplant.
