Hello FF, I recently bought a baby Cranwell's pacman frog He is about one inch big. The reason why i wanted to post this is because of how small he is. I tried to buy the largest one the breeder had within my price range so i chose this guy. Ive read in Barlett & Barlett's "The Horned Frog Family and African Bullfrogs" that these guys can be kept in deli cups until they outgrow them. He is in a 5 gallon tank right now and the temperatures at the highest are at 81 degrees Fahrenheit and has a small water dish that is three inches across and goes up to his chin. Any Suggestions are welcome!
( Still deciding on a name )

You should cut up nightcrawlers to feed him. Or small crickets. Just reading about him makes him sound cute

One thing I like to do when my frogs are that small is train them to eat from tongs or your fingers. its easier than training an adult and is helpful when your frog gets sick or is being picky for some reason.
Where are everybody? Gosh....
anyhow, thank you for getting me out of hiding lol
Any pictures? Congrats of your baby by the way
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Hi Ryan,
Temp is right, 80-82'F. no higher. it can drop to 78'F at night, though I prefer to keep it at 80'F for babies. Keep the water bowl on the cool side of the tank in case he wants to cool down. Humidity should be 80% by misting the tank. most mist twice a day. He'd love a cave-like hide or umbrella like plant. You can feed him crickets and baby Dubai roaches. Food should be no bigger than the distance between his eyes, for ease of swallowing. Feed nightly while they are young and growing. once older you can feed less often. use a good amphibian/ reptile calcium with vitamin D3 supplement lightly dusted on his food every other day and a good multivitamin such as Repashy one day a week, but not the same day as the calcium. Coconut fiber substrate (such as Eco Earth) is safe for him. Avoid rocks or moss. Water should be no deeper than his chin. Use dechlorinated water to moisten his substrate and for his water bowl. Change water bowl daily. Keep him in a nice calm, quiet area. Cover the back and two sides of the tank with a background of some sort to help him feel safe. And, enjoy .

Thanks heather & Lija! in that case i'll have to get a red light for the pacman, i have a heat pad but it may be too risky to use on the bottom, Ill get that bulb as soon as possible.

You can use a heatpad! Just tape it to the side, not the bottom. I work strictly with heatpads and cables.
Just my luck! Just checking him and found that he has red leg I've
contacted the breeder and put him in quarantine with paper towel substrate.

I'm sorry for your loss, I would honestly avoid this breeder if one of the smaller animals allready has red leg... That's not a good sign.
Ive contacted the breeder and got my money back, and bought a pacman frog from petsmart (I understand the concern with the large pet corporations) He's about the same size and i have him in a critter keeper with a large water bowl (Very shallow) and he has already eaten a night crawler! Im now working on tong feeding him the next day
