Hey guys
Just bought this frog but not sure how old it is or what sex it is. Any help with determining the sex would be greatly appreciated.
Yellow may mean its a male but until that african bullfrog is fully grown you cant know for sure. How big is it

It is 4.5. Inches long.
If it is a female than it wont get much bigger, if at all. But if its a male, it will get 9-10 inches long. There is no way to tell for a couple of years or if he/she starts croaking. Btw, welcome to the frog forum!

I thought the females are known to retain their stripes down their back?

Females have solid white bellies, usually. Whereas males typically are a cream color with yellow arm pits. Or at least, that's what I've heard. If you're not sure about color, I've also been told small heads, huge bodies are female. Your's looks female, to me.
not all females retain their stripe...some do and some dont...ive had 4 females total and two males...out of the 4 females only 2 retained the stripe and the other two compleletly lost it...varies from frog to frog
Female.
Color does not determine sex.
