    Default Red leg?

Well idk if im just paranoid or if im not but if been noticing that one of my WTF has been eating a little bit less and is less active than usual and i noticed this dark coloration on his legs and some pink on his stomach

He lives with just one other WTF and i have had them for almost a year and i havent seen any problems like this before. They are both the same size, and they used to eat a lot but i have seen that they have been eating less. This one in particular. Do you think he could possibly have red leg or is it just paranoia

Sorry your frog might be ill?

Red leg does often appear as a reddening of the skin, usually on the belly and underside of the thighs. However, this should not to be confused with the natural coloring the frog typically has in these areas. Frogs that get red-leg tend to act lethargic and lazy. Treatment will depend on the exact pathogen that has can be cultured and definitely identified. This is often a combination of 'bugs' . It is believed that it is combined with a 'causing' pathogen which is an opportunistic bacteria that lies dormant in the frog's system waiting for a chance to overtake it. This occurs when the frog is ill, stressed, from improper husbandry. ( ie improperly set temps and humidity parameters, poor feeding care, lack of vit and calcium, dirty enclosures and soaking dish)

Get your frog tested ( they will send you the swab to do this ): it is very simple. You do not need a vet to move along with this testing.
    Research Associates Laboratory

If you suspect your frog is ill move forward (as quickly as possible) with the suggestions below
(none of which will hurt your frogs – but you can begin on your own )
-I would suggest you contact a vet asap
    -Separate the frogs immediately
-Disinfect the tank they are in now ( bleach and water) RINSE COMPLETELY W/ DE-CHLORINATOR. RINSE ! RINSE ! RINSE !
( ie fill will clean water add additional de-chlorinator and let it sit )
-Keep the frogs separated ( even go so far as putting them in different rooms
-Be VERY certain the temp is high enough !! In fact you could set it a few degrees higher ( mainlining the humidity level)
-Set up a quarantine tank ( QT tank ) for the sick frog.
    -Buy disposable gloves.
-Disinfect the QT tank at least every other day using disposable gloves.

A treatment commonly used for red leg is Lamisil: However, Lamisil comes in a different formula now ( ie it used to be a pump and is now a spray) So, you will need a vet's help with this. 1cc LAMISIL spray to 220ml decholorinated water bath for 5-7 minutes. Treat for 14 days...then quarantine for another 15 days then RETEST.

I'm very sorry for the frog's death ! Strongly recommend you clean out and disinfect the whole enclosure. Other's frog vet visit is a good idea too .

If it was Red Leg, recommend give the survivor that was in contact with dead one salt baths (1 teaspoon aquarium salt per gallon of dechlorinated tap water) for a week. Can start in a quarantine enclosure while you clean out their enclosure. Make sure that salt bath is not deeper than frog's chin. If the frog's gets too stressed by it; you can wait until frog is sleeping and using a dropper; apply salt solution to frog's body while avoiding the nostrils. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
