So I have a build going on for a waterfall/cenote thing for my whites tree frogs, I want to put some moss on the piece and I found some cool stuff, was hoping someone could help me identify it.
Thanks
Welcome to the forum! The moss is usually safe as long as you clean it out in water first to get rid of any hitchhikers like pill bugs or mites. The moss that is sprouting spores may be hard to clean because its attacked so much to the soil. I have experience with both of these mosses within the terrarium.

Actually both were growning on rock, gave them a nice soak/clean and got them set in place, thank you for the advice =]
Hi ,
If you are in Seattle, this will not last in the enclosure
It may completely disappear , some may come back and survive if the temps are cool enough for it- but it will not last for log and will need a dormancy period to survive.
I have some of this moss in a 3 gallon frog free terrarium on my kitchen table. It goes through lots of stages of dormancy before it takes hold. It is a very bright room and the temp , of course is never over 68F.
Mosses grown, for instance, in a dart viv are tropical species and will thrive in the bright, moist humid environment.
Most importantly...using something in a frog enclosure from the 'yard' should raise a red flag You could be inviting lots of trouble ; of which could include pesticides and fertilizers ( depending on where you live. ) ?
Black Jungle sells tropical moss - that is beautiful- will grow anywhere ( even on the glass) - and is about $17. Trouble free and well worth it.
It is ALWAYS very healthy
