I had two male ADFs in a small aquarium (had been purchased in one of those self contained ecosystems). I have had them almost 4 years. One was noticeably larger than the other, the smaller one has been looking whitish and very skinny. When away for a week, I had family feeding my frogs. My Mom called after several days to tell me the larger one was missing! She thought one ate the other! However it was the small sickly looking frog that remained. There was no way for the frog to get out of the aquarium, yet there were no remains inside. If an ADF dies, does the body dissolve? Will the other frog eat it? Where would it go?
Hello and welcome to FF ! Sure the frog did not got out? Although it would eventually decompose in the water, it would take time and would not dissolve overnight if dead. Frogs can eat frogs; but not a bigger one.
Everything points to the frog getting out of tank, and both ADF/ACF can do that if top has any gaps or tank is left uncovered accidentally.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
