buying whites tree frogs from petco?

I'm preparing to purchase 2 whites tree frogs and am curious to know the best place to buy them from. My local Petco carries them but I'm nervous to buy animals from them. Do you think that would be safe? It would sure be nice to avoid a $30 FedEx shipping fee though. TIA

Hello and welcome to FF! One thing you can do is to check with your local Petco and find out when is their next White's shipment scheduled to arrive. As long as frogs look OK and the weather cooperates; buying them upon arrival will reduce chances they are not kept properly (parameters, food, supplements, etc.) at local Petco. Other than that; ordering from online sellers will include a shipping charge. Still, think $30 for Fedex overnight is a nice deal .

I purchased 3 Whites Tree Frog from Petco Jan 2013 and they were all sick little babies. I spent $$$ on vet visits, lab work and medication for them. I suggest spend the money on a quality breeder. I'll only buy cb frogs from now on, unless I can raise them from tads myself.

I bought my Freddie from Petco in bangor and everything looks good, smells good and is always clean. Just study your store and see how all the living things look in there.

Myself would rather get CBB frogs from breeder and pay the overnight shipping; but if not an option, would then get the frogs as they arrive in store and before they go into contact with local store display.

You talk to manager and have employees hold & keep your frogs in the arriving containers. They can call you upon arrival and if you pick them right away it should be of no issues to frogs .
