    I think this is a northern leopard frog anyone have any other ideas I adopted him from a petco someone dropped it off with 2 fire belly toads and i adopted all 3 petco don`t sell these so they had no idea what it is oh and they had it in with the fire bellys I gave it it`s own terrarium

    Colors are a bit off but it does look like a Northern Leopard to me.

    It looks like a pickerel frog, Lithobates palustris. A close relative to the leopard frog, but unlike it's cousin, it is toxic and should not be housed with other frogs.

    Ah yes, could be a pickerel - that explains the color. Here's a Pickerel Frog I photographed in April:

    I thought that myself but there is one big diffidence the nose
    the northern leopard frog has a longer nose the pickerel frog the leopard frog has a more pointed nose the pickerel frogs nose is more blunt

    I think the legs look more like a Pickerel so I'm with Kurt.

    It has copper colored stripes on either side of it`s back

    I am not a big expert on Ranids, but the pickerel frog is one that I am very familar with. So I am definitely going to stand by my ID. If you want to make sureand end all doubt, you can always consult a field guide such as the Peterson guide for the eastern US.

    The last pics you posted are definitely Lithobates pipiens, the norhtern leopard frog.

    He has to have his own tank, pickerels are toxic. He could be housed with another pickerel of similar size, but other than that nothing else.

    the pet store had him in with the fire belly toads I gave him his own tank as soon as we got home I knew the fire bell toads are toxic as well

    You're welcome. I think pickerels are the coolest of the Ranids.
