I am hoping to get some advise on picking a frog for a pet which ones that attain good larger size that would be good for a eager to learn beginner.I will take good interest in caring for my frog to make and keep him happy.

Hi Judy ! Reading this might help get started: Frog Forum - Choosing a Frog. Have you any preferences as to aquatic or land; ground or tree; diurnal or nocturnal?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
I'd definitely point you towards a Pacman frog. They're really easy to care for, they get to a pretty decent size, and they eat like hogs. The thing is, they don't really MOVE. If you want an even more impressive frog that is more "reactive" I'd recommend an African bullfrog. The thing with ABF's is that they need more in terms of space, and I feel like it might be a bit of a challenge giving a growing/adult male enough to eat.

Hi Judy,
I have a few years experience with frogs;
and whole life with many wonderful "pets" as most of us love animals.
Frogs are really not like most "pets"........not like ie cats ,dogs, hamsters, rabbits, birds etc...the list is a mile long
Frog are more like.....well .....our charges
Kind of ....but not exactly ....... like fish and reptiles..... they are a look only don't touch "pet".
They never want us anywhere near them
Sometime reading about all possible choices and the behavior of different species of frogs can help you make a decision.
BTW, It is commendable that you are taking the time to learn, ask, and think 1st ! You will be well prepared
