Default Dangers of a waxworm diet?

I found out that my Petsmart has been feeding their FBTs waxworms so when I bring them home and feed them crickets they aren't eating and die. So I bought waxworms this time. But I don't like how much fat waxworms have and don't think that should be their food staple. How do I wean the frogs off and how long before the waxworm diet is detrimental?

I'm pretty sure they will hunt the crickets. Actually, they will hunt anything that moves, at least mine do. I bought my fbts at a local store and they had a 100% cricket diet. My fbts now hunt crickets, curly flies, fruit flies and buffalo worms. They had no problem adjusting to their new diet.

I will keep trying with the crickets. How do they eat fruit flies without their tongue? I'd think the flies are too small? So any thoughts on the effects of a waxworm diet on FBTs?

They grab them with their mouths. Fruit flyes are small, but they will eat more of them. You could also try and feed them curly flies. Those flies are much bigger. A 100% waxworm diet is not recommended because a waxworm doesn't contain all the nutrients your fbts need.
