Can earthworms cause dropsy?

Lately I have been feeding my ACFs earthworms about two to three times a week. Is this a dangerous amount? Other than earthworms I feed them reptomin.

No. Why would they?

Earthworms are probably the best meaty food you can feed your frogs. Only dangers I can think of would be feeding worms from the "wild" because of contaminants.

Awesome. That is what I had gathered from many people's opinions, and am aware that zoos use them as a staple in the frog's diet. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over-feeding them worms in comparison to reptomin.

Nightcrawlers are premium clawed frog food in my opinion! Good and good for them. I try to feed mine one worm a week at least.

Hi,

I use earthworms as staple diet for my ACFs. They are relatively low in fat and calcium-rich (this is why they are even said to prevent dropsy), so there´s nothing wrong with them given that they aren´t contaminated. Just don´t overfeed, regardless of the kind of food.
