    Exclamation Can earthworms cause dropsy?

Lately I have been feeding my ACFs earthworms about two to three times a week. Is this a dangerous amount? Other than earthworms I feed them reptomin.

Earthworms are probably the best meaty food you can feed your frogs. Only dangers I can think of would be feeding worms from the "wild" because of contaminants.

Awesome. That is what I had gathered from many people's opinions, and am aware that zoos use them as a staple in the frog's diet. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over-feeding them worms in comparison to reptomin.

Nightcrawlers are premium clawed frog food in my opinion! Good and good for them. I try to feed mine one worm a week at least.

    Hi,

I use earthworms as staple diet for my ACFs. They are relatively low in fat and calcium-rich (this is why they are even said to prevent dropsy), so thereīs nothing wrong with them given that they arenīt contaminated. Just donīt overfeed, regardless of the kind of food.
