delivered this morning and decided to set it up have i done it right? and have I put the humid/temp sensor in the right place and the water bowl and the light on top (50w IR bulb on a dimmer plug) that was setup temp as I need to buy another one as that one is for my scorpions

Are you getting a baby or adult? Just asking because if it's a baby I would say your water bowl's too deep you could put some big stones/rocks in the bottom so there's no risk of froggie drowning?
Otherwise it looks so much like my set up it's scary!!

yeah what would u say a 4-6cm would be, baby? in the shop they use to be 2-3cm but the website has updated and now says 4-6cm, and its an 30x30x30 tank, waterbowl is a medium size, would a few pieces of slate do I have loads in the front down the side of the path il wash them with boiling water to kill anything

Mine's 30x30x30 have no idea on size/age because mine's about 4/5cms and I was told he's 6/7 months old but the lovely people on here reckon he's either a lot younger or badly stunted lol

haha, whats that lamp holder thing you've got? looks good id prefer mine like that rather than sitting on the wire mesh
Looks good! I don't own any pac mans but I would say your little guy/gal will love it.
I wouldn't put the humidity sensor right above the water bowl, I would think you would get false Humidity readings from the evaporating water. but the hight off the ground looks perfect.
thanks mate, where you think I should put the sensor then?
I would personally put it at the same hight but in the middle of the terrarium. This will give you a more accurate measurement. I also put an regular humidity gauge somewhere else in my terrarium just to be a gut check for the digital one. Looks like you have the same digital one I have. Zoo Med HydroThrem If so mine has been very accurate.
Take no notice of my (internal) red heat lamp it needs to be moved outside the tank in case my little man jumps and burns himself, it's just a temporary measure to get the heat up - I ordered a compact light canopy that will sit ontop of the tank with fitted blue/red heat
cheers paul, that temp/humidity gauage is exo terra. by the way the middle as in dangling from the top of the mesh at the same level as it now in the pic or as in at the back middle at the same level as the pic, and manwell why dont you get a mesh guard?
On the glass in the middle. Sorry I was less than clear in my previous post. Think of it as trying to find a spot that will give you the best idea of what the temp/humidity is in the tank. For instance I placed mine in the middle on the side that is not directly under the Ceramic heater. This way for the temp I know if it is 78 degrees on that side than the other side directly under the lap is a bit warmer. This helps me ensure the whole terrarium is within range of what the frogs like as well as gives them a side that will be warmer if they decide the heat is where it is at.
Same thing for humidity. I placed it midway on the tank in a place the misting system won't get water directly on it. This would cause errors and false readings. Helps ensure the humidity in the middle of the terrarium is right. Which should mean the humidity at the top is a bit less, but a bit higher on the ground.
Here is a picture of the terrarium (this is after a rush cleaning that HAD to be done. and has prompted a total redesign of the terrarium that is still currently underway. I am just sharing it to give you an idea of where I placed my sensor.
Also i use a ceramic heater so I can maintain temps at night without shining a light directly into the terrarium.
once im home il add a photo or 2 of the sensor in the new location twll me what you think, that a red eye tree frog you have?
Absolutely I'll give th epic a look once you post it.
Yeah we have 2 Red Eyed Tree Frogs and 2 more of them being delivered tomorrow.
hope that's ok? I also ended up getting to laminated back grounds for the left and right side for more security for it when I order It
That is the correct position. Water dish may be a bit tall as well. They need easy access and exit. Just sink it into the substrate a little so it isn't sticking up as high and do make it more shallow.
will do mate thanks and many thanks for everyone else all been great help!
Yep looks good! I agree with sinking the water dish down in the substrate some.
