    Default Leaf litter

When you order leaf litter from an online dealer does it generally come loaded with little inverts?

My magnolia leaves are awesome no complaints there, but I have mixed feelings about the willow oak. I got a whole butt load of it which is a plus, but it was full of acorns, moss, sticks and a variety of little bugs. Most of which were different little flies and what not which I squished most of and the rest are going to get boiled/baked out. I also found 2 little grub like things and a little spider(I think it's some type of sac spider)

I set the grubs up with some coco fiber and crushed leaf litter, hoping for some kind of beetle but we'll see what they morph into if they survive. And set up a little enclosure for the spider.

I was expecting something that was "clean" and viv ready I didn't think I was going to have to do all the boiling and what not.

Is this normal and I'm just being picky or do I have reason to be slightly annoyed?

Other then that spider it sounds like it was viv ready to me. But if it is not what you ordered then I would tell them. I rarley order leaf litter online but when I do it comes in very clean. I usually toss in untreated leaf litter from outdoors (only from places that are not sprayed with chemicals) The microfauna that come on the leaf litter help keep the enclosure clean. I think this may have been what happened. Who ever you got it from may be running a bioactive enclosure and selling the leaf litter out of it.
