Hey everybody I recently bought an Exo Terra 24x18x18 terrarium and supplies to house a D. Azureus and 2 D. Patricia. I've been having a lot of trouble keeping the humidity up and have decided to replace the screen top with a solid sheet of 1/8" glass. My house is at 68 -70 degrees so Ive been using an Exo Terra compact top with two 25w heat lamps to bring it up for the frogs. Will the glass top allow enough heat through to the tank? Is there a better option? The third bulb in there is a CF 2.0 but with my next check Im going to get some live plants and the screw in LED bulb from Joshsfrogs. For substrate theres 2.5" Zoomed clay hyro balls then a mesh barrier topped with 2.5" Zilla Jungle Mix. Any ideas for heat or other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi cyclops23. Using lights for heating isn't usually the best option. For my frog enclosures i use heat mats on the side of the tank usually on the back of the Exo terra cage. This will provide gentle heat through the terrarium for the darts. to keep the humidity up even more, try covering the ventilation strip along the cage with electrical tape.

Thank you! Would one big heat mat on the back be sufficient? will it get through the foam backboard ok?
Yes a heat mat on the back will get through the foam
backround. just make sure its not too powerful!
