    Default Identify this plant.

I found this growing out of the moist substrate in one of my invert tanks. I'm guessing its a foreign species. It's very young and looks like a mimosa that plant that when you touch folds up. Btw I used to grow mimosas so I know what they look like at this stage but I'm not 100% sure. It grows very fast and wasn't there a few days ago. It's probably too young to tell what it is.

Entirely too small to tell. That's like trying to guess male and female from a frog egg lol

I really hope its an interesting plant and not some common weed that I could find in my garden.

Despite my experience with mimosa plants and growing them this shoot managed to trick me as now that it's grown more today I'm 90% sure it not one.

What substrate do you have in the tank it came out of? Any other plants in that tank?

No it was just coco husk. The strangest thing is that I boil all my substrate before use and this tank of a seed wasn't affected.

I'm thinking a four-leaf clover (Marsilea quadrifolia) quite common from coco fiber mixtures. I used to grow a lot of those til i knew they were toxic to lizards if ingested lol. Please do get a pic again when the leaves open up so we can confirm it.

What veggies do you feed your inverts? So far this year I've grown cucumber and potato in my sow bug enclosure.
