    Default Albino pacman lighting

Hi, I'm new here and was on a short while at herpcenter.com before I found out about this place. I'm pretty much about to leave to work so just a quick question for now. I was using a 5.0 uvb light for about one week on my lime green albino pacman frog before I heard it wasn't good for them. The person didn't respond back to say what kind of lighting then if any I should use. I've been looking at this one Hagen EXO Terra Repti GLO 2 0 UVB Compact Fluorescent Full Spectrum 13 Watt | eBay which seems says natural light but in the other pic says uvb. Thanks.

No uvb/uva for albinos. No white light either. Use an Infrared incandescent bulb no more than 50 watts.

Hello and welcome to FF ! Yes, as Dan stated, can't use daylight type bulbs on "Albinos" due to their sensitive skins and eyes. Can go for the red type bulbs and/or the black "moonlight" bulbs (look black off and dark purplish when on.). The red ones are better at illuminating the enclosure since the moonlight emits very little light. Both of them can be run 24 hours if needed to heat enclosure. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Thank you guys both for your responses! :-) My room mate wants to know if there is any scientific proof that albinos require this type of light and that uvb/uva is in fact harmful to their eye sight and skin. Does any one have a link? Thanks. I didn't see a start below your posts so I could approve the response, maybe since I've been back I wasn't signed it I'll check now.

It would be nice if science and the groups that fund research would prioritize how to provide sound care and do's and don't for pet frogs. Until that imaginary moment arrives; all we have is observational knowledge gained by previous experience and shared in books and forums. Thank you !
