Well im updating my 3 pyxies from there 40 gallon breeder would a 75 gallon be alright or do I need to go bigger its gonna be a half land and half water feature and what's a good durable and efficient filter for these frogs I need some ideas in trying to put together a good clean setup
If you have 75G already on hand; it will be OK upgrade from 40G with additional foot in length. Still; not sure if that is enough space for 2 full grown large males and one female. If those guys are huge; a 180G might be a better choice to create a spacious water/dry combo enclosure.
IRT filter, the biggest you can afford is my answer. The API Filstar XP-XL (previously Rena XP4) or a Fluval FX6 come to mind .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Hey thanks man you think a 40g breeder would be good for one male
Yes, a 40B (36 x 18 x 18 in.) is good for a grown single male. Would build it around 1/3 dry and 2/3 water with a basking spot in wet area leading to dry section, similar to picture on post no. 2 on this thread .
