    Default How much to feed?

I am planning on getting a couple Cope's tree frogs and despite being able to find their diet everywhere I can not find how MUCH to feed ... I may have overlooked how often. I plan to feed small crickets since the large are simply too big.

I'm fairly new to frogs as well, but I hope I can help. I think it really depends on the size of your frog. I'd just keep a close eye on his size and see how full his stomach is looking after a night. I kept a 2" american green tree frog for a week, and fed him about 5-7 small crickets a night, and he was looking much plumper when I released him. If they're small I'd stick with 2-3 a night to see how they react, and if you think they can eat more, try adding a few more each night.

Juvenile frogs should be fed every day and adults should be fed every other day. I read somewhere to feed as many crickets that take up the length of the frog's back so if 4 crickets take up the length of the frog's back, then feed the frog 4 crickets. If you want to know for sure if the frog is eating, you can try feeding the frog with tongs (my copes grey tree frogs and pretty much grey tree frogs in general are really good and hand feeding and tong feeding). Also, if that's not an option, then put the crickets in a glass bowl so they can't get out, and see how many they will eat in 15 minutes. I'm not an expert but I hope I helped and good luck! Cope's grey tree frogs are really cool!

I'll buy a dozen small and just feed them 2 each a night. My neighbor has a grey tree frog I care for. I have only been buying him 6 a week though because I didn't know and I did not want him to starve. I hope she will eventually hand him over.
