I had a sick bearded dragon who passed away (it was a rescue that did not make it). The cage it was in is PERFECT for my Giant African Bullfrog who is not an adult yet. Because the beardie was sick, I want to disinfect the cage just in case. How would I go about properly doing this? I have cage disinfectant from petsmart but it's a little strong smelling. My frog is about 6-7 months old so I assume he needs less harsh chemicals.
You could use a 1:10 bleach solution and just jeep rinsing a few times till the smell is away then leave to dry naturally then wipe down with a damp cloth to remove any possible residue off it. It'll be a few days before the frog can go in but better safe than sorry

What disinfectant do you have? If Zoo Med's Wipe Out, you can use that. Spray all surfaces until wet, wait 10 min. then wipe with paper towel and let dry out overnight.
If using bleach, recommend rinse well and then go over all enclosure surfaces with rag soaked in a 10X dechlorinator solution. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Yes, just make sure you let it dry out completely. Please be aware that very few processes (i.e. autoclave) will kill all spores and reproductive stages in some bacteria and parasites. Even using pure bleach can leave stuff behind !
