Thread: Young Giant African Bullfrog not eating.

Default Young Giant African Bullfrog not eating.

Hello, my bullfrog Rigby is about 3 and a half inches long. His diet is mostly appropriate sized dubia roaches (he doesn't care for worms but they're still offered). Temperature is usually at a steady 85 degrees. His soil is moist, but not watery.

Rigby usually eats every night, probably around 20-30 dubia roaches smaller than the space between his eyes. The last two nights Rigby has not eaten and showed no interest in his food. Tonight he seems to be eating normally. Should I be concerned? Also, he's going to the bathroom regularly.

    Thanks so much!
    -Lulla and Rigby

There's no need for concern whatsoever. He's getting older now and does not need to eat as often as when he was a juvenile. I would continue to offer him food as you have before, but do not expect his feeding habits to always be the same.

Agree with SCF; time to start feeding every other day. Soil should be slightly damp so it starts to clump in closed fist, but no water comes out. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
