I love your animals!. I've kept B.smithis and they are by far the coolest T's out there. I also had a male veiled for several years. Love those things.
One thing I would change is the sand in your beardies cage. If you wanna use substrate look into sand/soil bioactive. It works wonders.
Thanks. I agree B.Smithis are my favourite Tarantula as well along with T.Blondi which I hope to get someday.
Not to worry about the beardie. That was taken over half a year ago now. She has a complete new setup with a different substrate specifically made for bearded dragons. She is one of the most attractive dragons colour wise I think, a nice yellow colour. I'll post some updated pics tomorrow morning because its 12:18am here in England and she has lights on a timer and I don't want to wake her up. I'll post some pics tomorrow for you though.
Heres those pics poison. You can't see her colours that well though because she has gone dull as i think she is about to shed. I like natural substrates because its not like in the Australian outback the bearded dragons have reptile carpet or paper towels to sit on to prevent impaction... plus the beardie is actually my brothers pet so he decides what substrate to keep her on. Besides she has never once got impacted or had anything wrong with her. Anyway enjoy the pics.
I too love natural substrate for my animals. I use it in most of my cages. That substrate looks interesting. What is it? I use childrens washed play sand/ top soil for my animals. I would prefer to go out and dig up my own substrate though, maybe one day.
Sand/soil works wonders as far as burrows go

As far as impaction, it is a very real threat when using substrate for an animal that is not ibn good health or using non-natural substrates like calci sand that will clump up in the stomach and cause impaction. But if animals are healthy and hydrated then they will pass the beeding through their system like nothing.
It's called Lucky Reptile Desert Bedding.
