Based on the pacman sexing thread, I have a little girl. I didn't find the Nuptial pad spots, but she wasn't exactly co-operating either! Though, perhaps she is just too young and hasn't developed them (not sure on age, but 'tis tiny frog!). Based on the photos, does she look like a cranwelli?
She seems pretty active and refuses to stay in her little deli cup home, especially after being able to jump around on my bed for a while. I'm guessing that she isn't going to want to wait to move into a bigger home, so I'm going to go pick up a cage today when I go to the store. Silly frog is more active than my Dumpy Tree Frog. Anyway, here are some pictures of the little one. Don't worry about the dog in the background. My dog was raised around all sorts of little critters and likes them better than other dogs. She knows that a "looking only" animal means she can't lick it to death. She knows that staying back is her job and listens so well.
That is a C. cranwelli and it's too young to sex. Here is a good care article for them: Frog Forum - Pacman and Horned Frogs - Ceratophrys - Care and Breeding .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Thanks. I've been reading that. Little frog will be moved to the cage I originally bought for my tree frog as I moved it to an 18x18x24 (I think). I just need to clean out the little tank tomorrow. I'm really hoping that this pacman stays female and I think I'll just keep using "she" until I'm proven otherwise. Lol. Too bad reptiles and amphibians aren't sexable as babies in general as it would make naming them so much easier!
That is a very cut little frog. I got mine 3 weeks ago and he (or maybe she) has more that doubled is size .
Wow, doubled? So I better get baby frog photos as soon as possible! Lol
I was able to sex my frog when he was almost 3 inches around. One week he didn't have nuptial pads, then the next week they were there.
