Its very easy. Males have long wings females have short stubby wings.

You can tell the difference in adults easily because males have full wings while females have only wing buds. You can also determine sex as 1 inch or larger nymphs by looking at their undersides. Males have an extra segment that is more narrow than the females. Look at the butts from the bottom of the adults and observe the difference. Nymphs will have the same differences . Gl
