Lynn & Heather,
So I came across something totally new today when doing my daily inspections of all my tanks. One of my elder females of my breeding group looks to me as a tumor. Me being Mr. chemistry and all decided to take a sterile needle and take a sample of the fluid.
White and Milky. (Kinda like a pimple) NOT BLOODY/ NOT CHUNKY. SO now i'm confused. This to me is a call for a vet visit. Just wondered if anyone as seen anything like it.
On a second note. My juvenile that got a lacerated leg from the door is healing quite well and ate a good amount last night. There is NO limitations to his/her leg and is no longer red. Just a bit pink.
Well all I have for tonight.

Hi Corey,
this could be a puncture wound?
or
could be a tape worm? Has he lost weight , despite eating well?
I'm sure you have isolated him
prepare an intestinal fecal sample for the vet as well
( time for you to get a microscope ! )
feed him well !
I believe , if it is a tape worm - they do better without sutures after it's removal
Let me know !

Thanks for the help..her weight is still good and chunky =P How does one contract tape worm? This one is new for me.
Hi
It's rare ...it's a species of tapeworm called Spirometra erinacei.
It's not pretty, Corey.
It can migrate from wild caught frogs from the soil - the typical , or original host could simply be a cat or dog.
It typically affects that area or on their lower back.

It's more likely a little puncture wound that got a little infected, and healed over.
Get some topical antibiotic on it? The skin looks healed over , so I'm puzzled as to what to do for it.
The vet will know.

Lynn,
Well... this is weird... that bulge is now disappeared on the back of her head. Now what? Keep her in quarantine? She just ate a HUGE cricket. Today was feeding day =P
Well this is good.
Sure , keep her in quarantine.
Glad it receded
