Hi everybody... I found this frog in my house in Venezuela, could someone ID it for me please? Is about 5 inches long
I am guessing Phyllomedusa trinitatis, but I could be wrong. I would help a lot if I could clearly see the iris.
Thanks a lot! I brought the frog home because one of the eyes and a leg was bleeding. This days many frogs and other animals are around because there is to many forrest fires.
I am trying to take a picture of the iris, thanks again!
Here is a closer picture of the eye:
No matter the species, pictures like this make me seriously long for my past days in South America.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!
Can you take more pictures? I still can't tell if the pupil is elliptical or horizontal. More pictures in general will make a positive ID more likely.
It looks like Phyllomedusa genus, at least we can be relatively sure of that.

I can't say for sure on that, though I think it's quite likely. I really need to see a clear shot of the pupil, because the only Hylids that have elliptical pupils are the Phyllomedusinae, which would include the genus Phyllomedusa, obviously. Last picture appears to show an eye that is covered in a nictating membrane, so the pupil is not readily visible.
The frog's head shape strongly suggests that it is indeed a Phyllomedusa, but I need more photos from different angles to make a positive ID.
