Can you use paper towel as a normal every day substrate? The reason I ask is because it is so much easier to change and makes the entire cleaning process 100% easier. Thanks so much.
Yep. I change mine daily. Avoid the kind with prints.

Excellent, thank you
I would keep using the paper towels till his sore is healed. By the time he gets out of his hospital enclosure he is going to be stressed and will probably want to burrow down deep in eco earth for a couple days. As an every day normal substrate I wouldn't use paper towels for pacmans. Only have to change the eco earth substrate every three or four weeks. It only takes me an hour at max to do a complete cleaning and substrate change.
I had my fantasy frog on paper towels for several months. He did fine, but you have to change them almost daily. I have him on cocofiber now because I got sick of changing towels daily. The cocofiber also absorbs smells (the towels don't and there's a gross frog pee smell, even when you change them daily). My guy was never much of a borrower so I don't think he cared about being on towels vs cocofiber, but he has a hide he likes. He's usually in the hide whether he's on towels or cocofiber.
