So, I was gone for a day and I just got back today from a trip to my cousins house. Right when I got home the first thing I did was quick run and check on my toad. Right when I put my hand in her cage, she lifted her head up and ran to the glass and looked at me and she was running into my hand and jumping all around her tank. But then she ran into her hide. So, I was wondering, do toads have emotions?
"Look on the wall behind you. Look at that little girl's face. I know you've seen it. But you know what she's never going to be able to see? She's never going to be able to see the simple wonder of a leaf in her hand. Because there's not going to be any trees. Now you think about that."

They act on instinct, and do not possess cognitive thought.
Yeah, she was probably just hungry.
