    Default American Toad Sexing Question?

So we caught and are currently housing an American Toad (see pics in introduction forum). When we caught him, he made some peeping noises (haven't heard them since, however). Does this, in fact, make him a him?

Or could "he" still be a "she"?

It doesn't matter, particularly, I'm just curious. TIA!

Normally males will have a darker grayish throat than females. Also, here is a male calling:
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I just wanted to report that I checked him out today while he was having a little soak, and I'm pretty sure I see the dark gray patch on his lower throat, and it seems pretty grayish overall. Between that and the chirping when we caught him, I think I actually have male toad.

Or, as my son told me "of course it's a boy, if it were a girl, it would have eyelashes."
