Default Urgent... In Need of American Toadlet Advice!!!

    Hello everyone,
I have 13 little baby toadlets that i raised from tadpoles. they emerged from the water over a week ago and they are growing quickly. after they emerged, i kept them on dry gravel with a water dish in a new tank. however, now i have them in a tank with eco-earth substrate. i removed them from the gravel because some of them are big enough to swallow small pieces of gravel and i know that's dangerous. so i moved them to a coconut fiber substrate... but i'm still worried that they are too small to live there too because i hear eco earth can cause impaction as well. what should i do? what kind of substrate would you guys recommend for my tiny toadlets? or am i good keeping them where they are at?

It depends on their size. As they grow, the coco fiber will be okay. As babies I like to use paper towels. It also makes it easy to see if they they have eaten their bugs and are having stools.

Most of them are about 3/4 of an inch and more, however I do have a few late bloomers that are smaller. I'll take ur advice and put the tiny ones in a separate cage with a wet paper towel. Thank u!! And have a blessed evening!

We fed ours flightless fruit flies and springtails. Remember to lightly dust their food with calcium with vita D3 every other day and very lightly with amphibian multivitamin powder one day a week .

Also use paper towel that is bleach free. Don't want those little bellies suckin' up the chemicals. I also used clumps of moss for them to climb on and they could also burrow their little butts into it. Made them feel safe. Also fed fruit flies & springtails to the tiny ones, and small red runner roaches would work for th 3/4 inch ones.
