Default Questions about the heating and the gauges!

oK! I'm about to set up my 10 gal for my pacman frog, i will be getting tomorrow and I'm using a heating pad for this enclosure! Now should i put the heating pad on the long or short side of the glass? Also should the substrate be above the pad or below it? I know when i have the substrate wet, I don't want my glass to crack! Also where do I place these 2 gauges? On the warm side? cool side? or in the middle? Thanks

you want the heating pad above the substrate level. it can be on the side, or the back, and where to put those gauges? in the trash. get yourself a digital unit. those are notorious for being inaccurate, to say the least.

i use this one in my tanks Exo Terra : Thermo-Hygro / Combination Thermometer and Hygrometer there are other brands, of course, but i haven't used them. i'm sure other people have and maybe they can weigh in on them.
