Default Live planted terrarium, uv needed?

Have a 20g high with 2 fire belly and 2 green tree frogs. almost all real plants and branches, but i was reading somewhere that frogs dont really need uv and if they do limit it to 4 hours per day, so im wondering do i need the uv for my plants (phillidendron which i know is spelled wrong, ivy, ferns etc)? or are my day and night heat bulbs enough?

nope, plants don't need uv lighting. as long as the bulbs are around the 6500k color temp, you're good

Any suggestion on 6500k bulbs? I have an incandescent for heating and a night bulb for heating at night but the incandescent is only 2700k now that i look at the box.

either ge or phillips makes a "natural daylight" cfl bulb (spiral) in 6500k. you can get them pretty cheap at walmart, home depot, ect. if you cannot fit a cfl, i know petsmart sells elongated cfl's for strip lights in 6700k. you could probably find them pretty cheap online as well. another option is led lighting. i forget who has them, but one of the sponsors on here sells led lights that screw into an incandescent socket. pretty pricey compared to a cfl, but saves money in the long run because led's last so long.

Although CFLs will warm up a bit, like all fluorescents, they are not equivalent to incandescent light heat output due to to their design.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
