Default Really huge tank setup question

    HI all

Was curious on how some people set up the hood for the really mega tanks to hide all the equipments and such

Anyone can share some thoughts about them ?

I cant seem to be able to get any literature on the hoods and housing for tanks that are really huge...like 8footers and so on

And how do you stick the misting nozzles on to the top ?
Brackets ? where and how do they look like ?

Sorry, i have not setup a mister before...only used a manual spray pump

Hand itching for something mega in the near future

    Thanks guys

I place hang my t5 lights from the rack above using zip ties. I also use zip ties to run the wires neatly along the edges of the rack. As far as misting nozzles, you have to drill holes in the glass to insert the misting nozzles.

A vivarium hood is not that different from an aquarium hood, here are a few links with ideas: aquarium canopy design - Bing on building your own.

And how do you stick the misting nozzles on to the top ?

As Ed mentioned, you could drill the glass top (carefully). Or you could use clear polycarbonate sheeting for a top back strip (like aquarium hinged tops) and drill that so can pass your water feed and other tubes or cords. Also, could build a feeder line framework out of PVC tubing and attach the mister nozzles to that.

Brackets ? where and how do they look like ?...

What kind of brackets and for what purpose?
Hope the above helps! Also, search around the vivarium section as there are many builds you can draw ideas from. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I have exos- I drill holes in the plastic trim of the tank top and/or interior rim of the tank itself to insert the mist tubing. For the mist heads: I drill really little holes in the interior trim of the tank top ( 2-- side by side) and tie up the mist valves w/ heavy fishing line.

i like to build maintenance areas inside my huge tanks to hide life support systems so i can access them if needed. i don't run misters, but it depends a lot on the design of the tank as to how to hide them. obviously, aquatic tanks are more of a challenge since the tops aren't permanent.

    Hi ya guys...

    Thanks for the input

Yeah had a look about the hood setup...

was also wondering what can i use to distort the vision from the viewer so that they cannot see into the contents of the hood like the lighting and wiring and so on...if i use just a glass screen, viewers can still see what i have up there...
Is there any other options available ???

    Thanks guys

you can use egg crate. it still allows light to pass but is thick enough to prevent anyone seeing what it up there without sticking their head inside
