Default Purple Red Eye Tree Frogs

I got some more purple red eyes today and a couple more albinos. The purples are the coolest frogs, just beautiful to watch. Thanks for looking.

    Really cool!

Is that like opposite of albinos or smething?

Thanks! Yes, they're melanistic, pretty much the opposite of albino. You would think that wouldn't be a nice morph in callidryas but it really adds a awesome look to this species. The purple/ black color is just fantastic in these guys. There is also a double ressesive purple albino that's pink and translucent, really cool looking. My bet friend has adult double hets breeding now, hopefully I will have some cool pictures in a couple months.

Am I understanding this right in that, that is a melanistic retf? or is it a different morph?

Theyre the same morph. They actually look black from a distance but purple when you really look at them. Some people call them blacks, some purple, but they're all the same.
