Hi all!
This is my first post on this website, and any help would be appreciated beyond words.
I have two FBTs. One, Nemus, is 14! Plump and healthy. His adopted brother, Gift, is 11 or so. Both have had no problems with health at all before.
However, as of late, Gift is perpetually turning his head downwards tilting slightly to the left. He also contracts his head and appears to blink hard, as though he were sloughing or shedding. In addition he has been moving slightly erratically the past 48 hours, and sometimes swims in circles a little. His balance seems a little off.
Upon inspection, he does not appear to have cloudy eyes. I did not see any mites or bugs on him. I don't think his behavior is related to spinal injury from amplexus either. I'm not sure what is troubling him. I will admit his tank is in dire need of cleaning soon, if that helps in problem solving.
HOWEVER, he does eat. He does move around and is active. So I am not certain if he is sick or perhaps maybe he accidentally injured himself somehow.
I have included three pictures displaying him for help in diagnosis.
Can toads have strokes? Cause that is what it sounds like to me. And looks like too.
