Default My two Xenopus Tropicalis arrived today! (Photos inside!)

    Hey there,

I'm getting a 250L tank on wednesday next week, so until then they're in a 60L (approx) tank until then. I'll only upload the first picture I took, I'll upload more later. In this picture, they're chilling near the lamp, standing on some floating plants.

I've noticed that they spend a lot of time in this position, floating near the top. Often they'll swim downward and look for food on the substrate. There is a clump of hornwort so they're always around them. Is this behaviour normal? I thought that they would be more 'aquatic'

They're also enjoying the nightcrawlers I'm feeding them

-Xenophon and Erpeton are the names

Awesome pick up! I am leaning toward getting some of them in addition to Borealis this summer. I love that plain-jane bronze color and the fact that they are so small.
from what I have reading lately hanging out up top is a typical behaviour for them and causes them to become quite tame.

Here is a site I stumbled onto yesterday that has a cool section on Tropicalis and some pics. Pretty similar to what yours are doing.
