Hello when i got my frogs they gave me freeze dried mealworms , i've been smashing them into tiny pieces , are mealworms suitable for my frogs diet ? i got brine shrimp eggs but have no idea how to hatch them ( can some1 tell me a simple way plz ) , i prefer feeding them blood worms but i don't think they sell those in my country , or finding them in the nature . If there's anyway i could order from outside my country ?
Thanks in advance
Hi there
Mealworms can prove fatal to ADFs in the long run, the exoskelleton of the worms is very
hard. I dont know how to hatch Brine shrimp eggs but there most likely willbe some people
on the forum who know how
Have a great day!

Most local fish stores do sell live brine shrimp but that might be difficult to find
in your area.
I agree with bob on this one, Meal worms and super worms do pose a threat. Not only that but they have a poor nutritional value. I honestly believe Meal worms are not suitable for any frog species. There are many different types of foods out there that can be offered the same way you offer the meal worms.
Sorry i have no experience with brine shrimp either but from hearing others speak of them they sound very easy to get started.
I feed mine live brine shrimp, once a week or so.
frozen blood worms (for the adult ADF) once a week oppsit of the brine shrimp.
A dry tadpole/aquatic frog food (from pet store) as a staple.
I use a small kidney shaped ceramic light colored dish pushed into the gravel (that is too large to swallow by the ADF)
and put the dried pellets in a little bit of water from the tank and stir it up to weft the pellets.
so they will sink as soon as I pour the mixture in over the food dish.
Since I have 15 neon tetras in the tank I feed them flake food on the opposite side of the tank then add the frog food
while the fish are distracted. ;-)
I plan on getting a separate tank for the frogs soon. Since they are getting old enough to breed.
I can hear the males calling and every once an while they will copulate
Hello thanks for the advice, i heard that they sell worms in my country for fishing , so im gonna go there and see if they have blood worms if no , there's any fish food that a frog could eat , any small pellets would work ?
So exited tomorrow going on a mission to get these :
- Frozen or Freeze Dried Brineshrimp
- Frozen or Freeze Dried Bloodworms or Glassworms
- HBH Frog and Tadpole Bites
- Reptomin
- Gammarus
- Frozen Beefheart
- Frozen or Freeze dried krill or baby shrmp
- Earthworms or nightcrawlers choped into small bite sized pieces
i just forgot that i could get other type of food i'm really exited for giving my little frogs a healthy diet , im gonna get all type of food , if i found one i will keep on searching for others ( im pretty sure i could find earthworms , but it would be nasty chopping them but worth it )
Can they eat gamberitos shrimps ?
