so woke up this morning to this scene.....lol
She wont lay eggs unless you have a water bottom.. But if you misted her or had a rainfall with barametic pressure drop they will do that amplexus stage for a day or two. (nothing will come of it but its nice to see) would you be interested in breeding them?
oh ok...good, because i have not looked at information on raising and caring for tadpoles LOL mmmm I dont know. thought about it....right now would be to busy and the whole rain chamber process is a bit crazy. maybe as i get more experience with them. Only had one of them for a year or so and the other a few months. It was cool to watch but definetly not what i expected to wake up to. haha. and it explains why he was so noisy this morning
IF by ANY CHANCE, she does lay eggs (ive seen some wierder things happen) Ill walk you through the process on how to take care of them. Tadpoles are very easy to care for as long as you filter their water. Rain chamber is a bit of a project but i can walk you through that as well =). If you ever have any questions feel free to call me or of course Lynn and Heather are great resources as well. You can find my information @ www.cjsfrogs.weebly.com
thank you so much. ill keep your offer in mind.
someone mentioned something i was wondering...i had never heard of it before so i dont know...but is there any cause for worry of her getting egg bound? something like that...eggs get stuck?
You do not need a rainc chamber to breed red eye tree frogs. It helps, but is not necessary. Heavy misting in conjunction with storms And a bowl of water will suffice. Some of the best breeders I have met don't use rain.chambers for multiple species of tree frog.
My red eyes will lay eggs if the repti-fogger is on. Although the rain chamber does get them to drop MORE eggs No question.
