I'm so "lucky" that I'm sitting in a very small one-roomed apartment were I nearly can't avoid the sun in summer, but now I'm worried. Already now at spring - before summer - I could see when I came home that the temp-o-meter said about 38-40 degrees... I panicked and turned off the lamp... my old temp-o-meter says in the shadow that it's about 22,5, could the temp-o-meter in the tank that says 38-40 be because of the sun is spotting directly on it? (of course) but would that say that the tank itself are 38-40 degrees too, or is it "fake" because of the sun-spot on the temp-o-meter???? what to do? - I'm not looking forward to summer right now, it's the first summer for my frog
Think I maybe have found a way...... sorry for the drama
Hello Zlitni! Recommend you get something like this: Zoo Med Digital Thermomether (or an infrared spot thermometer) and take measurements at several spots around terrarium. Then you can have a better idea of your temperature issues. As summer gets here you will either have to cover that window or move your frog enclosure to where sun does not reach it. Direct sunlight could overheat enclosure and your frog could get affected by it. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Thank you Mentat & Lija!
