Default Decorating a tank, what have you all done?

So far, Sherman's tank is bare. Would love to get some "excitement" into it. Real plants would be a treat, so what's safe? Should there be a hidey hut (and if so, what do you use)? My first ABF, he was an easy keeper. His tank didn't have anything, he ate everything and was just a big, fun guy. Sherman seems more reserved, so I'm thinkin' he could benefit from a little something. Would LOVE to see pics of your set ups, thanks.

sorry i don;t have pics, mine is pretty simple comparing to some elaborate tanks people on here keep theirs. mine looks like that : substrate ( eco earth), big water bowl, so she can fully submerge and swim a little, curved branch that creates a hide of some sorts and a few hanging plants, 3 sides of the enclosure covered with background.

I have that same pump. Do you have issues with it clogging from the substrate in the water? My 3 males go back and forth from land to water a lot, dragging coco fiber with them. I still have to do a water change atleast once a week.
