I was wondering what setup do you have for your african bullfrogs .I was thinking about making a all water setup.

Would you like to live in a swimming pool all the time? Or be able to get out of the water and relax a bit on land. I would recommend a 50/50 of half land and half water setup. It’s a little bit more of a pain in the *** to create depending on what you have for building materials, but it gives your frog a choice, he can be in the water when he wants to, or come on land for a nap in the dirt. Check out my enclosure. For a while I was using the large corner water dish in there for two African bullfrogs, but when I got my third frog.... things had to change. They couldn’t all fit in the corner dish at once so I decided to do a 50/50. They seem happier to be able to jump in the water for a nice swim. My enclosure size is a 40g breeder.

I do a red bulb light for heat for the land portion during night, a UVB light and heat bulb for the day, and a turtle water heater in the pond to keep the water around 78degrees. The land side stays around 80-85depending on the area.
This is just my enclosure and I know there are improvements to be made, but my frogs seem a lot happier with this setup.

In the last picture of them in the water, in case your wondering the swirls of white on the bottom is silicone. I did a swirl pattern on the bottom to give them traction. Just something small i did...

I had my female in a water set up with rocks to get out. Big canister filter to clean the water. When the weather got colder, I put her in a cocofiber setup with a large water bowl. She spends most of her time in the water bowl. I might put her back in the water set up for the summer.
