    Default Ideal Temperature for ACFs?

I was going around and I had seen a wide range for these guys!
Right now I am not using a heater and the thermometer reads 72.
They are currently in a 20 gallon tank, with a tetra whisper ex filter.

I was just wondering if I should try to cool them down a bit at times in the day by using my larger box fan.

    Hi Eli:

The ideal temperature is between 69-72(F). Temperatures above 86(F) can be fatal. If you keep them at ideal temperature, there will be no need to cool down or warm up. I have been keeping ACFs for many years and never used a heater; temperatures in my room range from 65-75 and I have had no problems.

Thanks. I don't think my apartment ever gets quite THAT hot, though sometimes the air fluctuates(I live in an apartment with no control over the heat really!
But when it does get to warm we crack the windows and turn on the fan to get some circulation.

However the highest I've seen their temps rise to is 76 F, which isn't too bad.

Right now they are between 70-72 and appear pretty content.
