i use spring water for everything but in my smaller tank the build up on the glass from the water is a lot more as i cant aim my spraying very frustrating, so i thought switched to distilled for misting but i dont want the plants to lose out but surely they cant lose out that much and if theres loads of stuff going on in the soil ie spring tails dead bodies poop etc is this not enough supplement for the plant... or am i just over complicating HUFF

Don't over think, just conform.....lol I have always used aquarium water to mist with. Not only is it vitamin and mineral rich, but since I dose my tanks with fertilizers, it's even more beneficial for the plants. Of course, I also know the precise amounts of ferts in my water, so I can keep it at acceptable levels for all myplants and animals . I don't recommend doing it that way to anyone. I only do it that way because I have been growing plants indoors a long time .

I use de-chlorinated for spraying the plants- if I have to , and distilled for the glass.

The only reason I'm aware of for using reverse osmosis water or distilled water over dechlorinated spring water is that it's less likely to leave water spots on the tank. Spring water has trace minerals and doesn't leave spots on clean glass. Distilled is cheaper I have noticed. I use spring water with great success.
