Default Photos from LI Reptile Expo today

    Welcome to ReptileExpo.com

I spent about 1-1/2 hours at the expo today.

It seemed quite busy. ( I purposely blurred this photo)

I was glad to see more frog vendors !

I was also happy to meet Julio from AMK Reptiles. It's always nice to put a name with a face.

I was not able to get very close to some of the frogs for a photo. Enlarge the photo to get a better look.
I wanted to show some of the prices ( seemed reasonable) mantella betsileo $ 25.00 each !

Oh, and guess what I purchased -- crickets

I love the photo of the red-eyed tree frogs - it's like a mini convention in that tank. I love that the look so compact when they sleep, not like White's who squish their bellies onto the glass!

Where in LI was this? I'm in NY and I'm interested in trying to get CB Gray Tree Frogs as an alternative to taking them from my backyard, but I'm trying to avoid the 1-day shipping cost if possible, and was thinking maybe I could find one at an reptile show. I've never been to a reptile show or even heard of any in NY personally, so I don't know how common they are.

Edit: I just actually took a look at that website you posted, and that almost answers all my questions already. There's even one in White Plains coming up, 30 minutes from my hometown. Now if only I wasn't four hours north.

Checkout herpnerds. There are 3-4 reptile expos a year in Poughkeepsie. Welcome to ReptileExpo.com has the white plains, Long Island, and New Hampshire shows as far as the fall. There used to be a show in Albany and another one in Kingston years back. I'm not sure if they still run them. They also have one coming up in New Jersey. www.njretileexpo.com good luck

Wow, the resources I had, just 30-40 minutes in either direction from home. If only I had gotten into frogs earlier :P. Regardless though, all this info was awesome thanks. I also happen to have a question about the legality of buying Gray Tree Frogs (native species to NY), if anyone wants to shoot me a PM (I assume that it wouldn't be appropriate to post it in this topic). Again though, thanks Ed and Lynn.
