I never use night lights. I used to, it made my red-eyes look red instead of green. So use them if you want to see your frogs turn red when the light is on.

I have a 40 watt moonlight on my 24" tall tank. I have to have one to keep the temps up at night. As far as how it affects the frog I can't tell you yet-as I have not gotten my frog yet.

As a rule, amphibians prefer cooler tempertures than reptiles do. So I wouldn't worry to much about night time temperture as long is doesn't drop into the extremes, and most people's homes are within an acceptable temperture range.

I don't think that will hurt them. I would feel better not letting drop down that far. 68°F would be better.

White's range over most of Australia, including New South Wales and I beleive that state may be in the temperate zone, but I am not 100% sure.

Hi, what are the benefits to the frog of having lighting?
I live in south england and I got my white's in the winter, in the day time the temp in the tank is about 71 and at night it has dropped to around 60. I havent got any lighting at all.
Is it necessary to have UVB/UVA/heat bulb etc?
Also, what do you do in the summer when it gets hotter than the recomended temp for the frog?

    No.
Airconditioning, if it gets really bad. I think they may be able to withstand hot temperatures for short periods without any problems. After all the are native to Australia and New Guinea, places not know for their frigid temperatures.
