Just wondering if there is more benefit to feeding FF vs. small crickets if the darts will eat both. Is it mostly because of cost or is it because FF are better for the darts?
IMHO Crickets are more of a hassle. They're noisy, will torture you if they get into your sleeping quarters, and they smell when as they die off. FF are so wash and wear so to speak. 5 mins spent setting up a culture and good to go. If you're not the culturing type and buy your feeders as needed then crickets could be less expensive. I guess depending on your situation, they both have advantages.
I have also been treating my SIs to springtails as well. Just something different for them.
Eds right, and even small crickets will be too large for most dart frogs, culturing fruit flies is much easier and they reproduce in the thousands and can last for a good while

I agree with Ed as well. FF are far easier to breed, to keep in stock and have available as an easy and convenient food source. I do have crickets as well but once they pass a certain size they are no longer usable with my small Mantellas.
