Default Please help! Found a frog that got bleached!

My girlfriend and I were cleaning shower in the bathroom with bleach when we found a frog inside that was jumping around. He got completely soaked in bleach and immediately seemed to be sick. He really looked like he was about to die - he was turning over onto his back. We quickly got him out and rinsed him very thoroughly with water and he seemed to start to perk up again. Now he is moving around, but he seems to be disabled. His mobility is very limited. He seems to have trouble jumping and climbing. I am still worried about him because when I tried to let him go outside, he just kind of sat there and when he tried to climb up the wall of the house, he couldn't stick to it.

Did the bleach remove all of his ability to function normally? Will it return? He is still ok right now, but he is sitting in a container with a small amount of water in it. What should I do?

Well, I don't know if he is going to last. I was rinsing him off with bottled water periodically , but I don't think it's helping. He seemed ok for a while, but I think he is succumbing to the bleach. He is still breathing, but he isn't moving and his legs are getting stiff. I put him outside my front door and left him in peace. I'm hoping for the best, but I think his prognosis is pretty grim. I just don't know how to help.

He didn't last the night, unfortunately. I had to bury him this morning. Poor little guy.

Sorry to hear about this. I don't tink there was anyway of saving him but at least you tried, Frogs absorb things through their skin and probably absorbed a lethal dose on contact. If you were rinsing him with tap water it too contains things like chlorine and heavy metals that are toxic to frogs.
