Thanks again for all the input everyone I am so happy I have him, and I think he's gonna be really happy especially since I have all of you guys and gals giving me great advise. And I feel lucky to have such a good small town type pet shop five minutes from my apartment. I would hate it if I had to do that kind of thing every time I went in to get my feeders and stuff..

Poor little guy looks a little rough. He/she will be a amazing little frog(not that it isnt already beautiful!) once it gains some weight

Well I decided on the name Tank even though I'm not sure of the sex haha. But I hope Tank starts to eat for me, so that way he can live up to that name what course of action do I take if he doesn't start to eat? I know it's only been a day, but I just like to be prepared. And how long should I wait before taking said action?

You will have to force feed him if he doesn't eat after 6 to 8 days. Keep trying.

i wouldn't wait this long though, he is very skinny, he needs to get some food in
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

Okay, I was watching some tong feeding videos. I think I am going to try my luck with some earth worms. I hope I can entice him enough to eat.

You can do it...just relax and be patient with him/her. It may take a good few minutes for her to be receptive.

Well I have great news!!! Tank ate!! I went and got some night crawlers, and I cut one up into five pieces and Tank ate three of the pieces I am so happy he ate finally...I have had a rough streak with my animals going on hunger strikes. My big pastel female ball python has been on strike for almost two months now but at least tank ate for me, now I know he is getting settled and will hopefully be okay

Don't you love it when they finally eat! That's terrific news, glad he's settling in a bit now! The anxiety that ensues from pets not eating is probably the reason why I've never kept Royal/Ball Pythons (notoriously picky eaters), I don't think I'd have any hair left if I kept them

Just a quick word on rescuing from pet shops, generally speaking, it is a bad thing to do. Yes, you do save the one animal, but as mentioned before, it does make them think that the bad care or neglect is completely acceptable, and it frees up another spot for them to get something else in to abuse. That being said, you said you knew the manager so fair dos, I'm not blaming you as I've done it before as well for a corn snake who's spine stuck out a mile from it's body. I had to deal with regurges and vet care, and she's fat and happy and healthy now, but it was a lot of work, time and money that I had to put in that I shouldn't have had to do if they kept the animal properly in the first place.

I think in the long run, our hearts are just bigger than our brains at times

Keep us updated on Tank's progress, with pics of course as he settles in more

waytago Tank!! IMO worms are the best way to start out, nice, soft & moist. Goes in easy and comes out easy.

Seriously thanks everyone I honestly couldn't have done it without all of your help and encouragement. It was really stressful knowing what he had been through, and not knowing if he would eat...
And Lixra, I do understand what you are saying about the poor conditions at some pet stores. It really is horrible. But, I actually just talked with the owner yesterday, because I went in to have him order me a tortoise pen for my girlfriends Russian Tort. And he explained that things have gotten really crazy for him since a pet smart moved into the same strip mall as his shop and he had some new people working and he hadn't been at the shop in a couple days when this whole ordeal went down. So he is only keeping people working that know what to do and how to take care of the animals properly, and not let something as simple as a pacmans substrate dry up happen.

Here's some pics of Tank today he's already looking more Tankish
